Veysi Balin was born in 1949 in Diyarbakır, Turkey. Balin completed primary and secondary education in Diyarbakır and continued high school education at Sultanahmet Akşam Ticaret Lisesi in İstanbul, Turkey.
Balin started his business life by selling chewing gum and water in the soil made pitcher at Diyarbakır railway station when he was just,6. Then he began to sell the products that passengers needed (razor blade, toothpaste, toothbrush, pocket comb, wallet, etc.) that is, he started to work as a peddle.
He opened a small novelties shop in Bağlar district of Diyarbakır and changed it to 3 other shops in the same area within 2 years because he found each previous shop was smaller than the following one. Two years later, he opened one of the biggest store in the sector he is in as he moved to the mall of Vakıflar in the center of Diyarbakır.
In 1971, Balin, who was on the way of tailoring his mother’s profession, chose the textile industry as his profession. He started production of children’s dress in a small workshop in Laleli, Istanbul. Next to production of children’s dress, he also began production of school uniform. First time in Turkey, in 1971, he launched the mass production of school uniforms and he created the brand BALİNLER. In order to carry his success in ready made garment to aboard, Balin, who produced and marketed school uniforms in the domestic market, began to export jeans and sport wears, in 1978. 98% of the production made under the name of Balins, Veys 777,Chain and Own brands are being exported.
Balin, who is also design most of the product which is produced in his company, has reached a different line in Europe with his collections prepared by his unique fashion sense. Balin does not limit his extraordinary thoughts on the basis of ready-to-wear, he also interested in the interior and exterior architecture of all service buildings and showrooms of his companies. Thus, Balin thinks that he creates differentiated space with decoration by establishing parallelism with the products he produces.
In 1993, with launch of private radio broadcasting, Balin established Veys FM and Balins FM in Marmara region. Balin, particularly interested in Veys FM, which broadcast only Turkish art music 24 hours a day, and believes that this broadcasting offers a great cultural service.
With his routine business, Balin was in charge of the task of board member in İHKİB (Istanbul Apparel Exporters’ Association) between the period of 1989-1991 and 1999-2001. Balins is also member of Turkish Industrialist’s and Businessmen’s Association.
Balin made a huge organization in Turkish denim sector by poured jeans over the sky by helicopter in Sultanahmet square, Turkey and signing giant organizations and fashion shows in Europe.
Balin has participated as a lecturer related fashion, economy and business life at many international universities and has been awarded success awards for his contributions. Balin has a colorful personality that blends economy with social life and giving many interviews related the economy-fashion- business life on tv channels. Balin, who has been published articles in various newspapers and magazines since 1985, has written articles in Dünya Gazetesi since the first month of 2002. He turns his business life into a game and blends his design with the philosophical thought structure.

Balin made horse breeding on his own stud farm in Altınova, Yalova. His success in horse breeding continues in horseback riding in Maslak Sipahi Ocağı horse riding club, İn Istanbul. Balin expresses the importance of this sport in human life at every opportunity because of horse riding is the only spore of two creatures.
